Well a certain Jerry Garcia, and David Grisman already did something like this, on there "Not For Kids Only" album . And didn't Springsteen do sort of similar thing with his "We Shall Overcome" Pete Seger album ?

Well in all fairness, I think that Garcia/Grisman album worked pretty well. I can't comment on the Springsteen album because I haven't heard it, but aren't the songs on that album just old folk songs, and not necessarily children-oriented in any way?

I just think if that "Oh Susannah" clip is any indication of what the rest of the album will be like, I won't be too happy. I'll take a Teddy Bear Picnic over that any day!

I am definitely excited for the next Neil album, which I believe may be "Toast," an album Neil & the Horse recorded in 2000, but put on the shelf until now. Neil said the following about Toast:

“It's great rock and roll, very moody, kind of jazzy. It's really dark. It's got everything that the best Crazy Horse albums ever had. It won't be the most commercial Crazy Horse album ever out.”

I love that "Not For Kids Only" album, by the way . The Bruce album, fits in the "sot of" spot . Though it is a Pete Seger deal, some of those songs a re the sort of thing we sang in grade school ( "Old Dan Tucker","Erie Canal"), and in first grade, (63), we had a principal who would sing us thing like "Old Chisom Trail", and "This Land is Your Land". Woody himself did some kids music, and did collections of music that are more like the Springstein .http://www.amazon.com/Cowboy-Songs-Southern-Mountain-Hoedowns/dp/B004WG59FY
Thanks for the heads up on "Toast", that sounds like it is great .
